Estonia is a small Baltic country located in northeastern Europe on the edge of the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic sea. The country has population of around 1.3 million inhabitants. It is bordered by Russia, Latvia and across the sea to the north is Finland and to the west is Sweden. Estonia, despite being a former Soviet nation, is listed as having an “advanced” or “high-income” economy according to the IMF and the World Bank.

The capital city of Estonia is Tallinn in the north of the country. Tallinn has a population of around 400,000 people and its old town is on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. In 2011, the city was also the European Capital of Culture together with Turku, Finland.
